Date: 20/04/2007 Event: From this picture we can begin to see the first stages of construction, the foundations have not yet been laid but supports have gone in.
Date: 20/04/2007 Event: This is the site where the car park is, this picture shows it at the very beginning of construction before anything had really started on the site.
Date:07/05/2007 Event: Foundations have began to be laid at the far end of the station and temporary supports have been removed
Date: 30/05/2007 Event: The sub-foundations are being built on now to allow for a safe construction on the platform.
Date: 14/09/2007 Event: A few months since the last picture and you can see how the site has advanced, the tarmac has began to be laid and curb stones have also been put into place.
Date: 23/10/2007 Event: We can now see the start of the new walkway and the new bridge to the platform in the distance.
Date: 23/10/2007 Event: The car park has a definite shape to it now and the first lampposts have been put into place.
Date: 02/11/2007 Event: The foundations for the new road junction are being dug, so traffic cones and signs have been added to divert traffic around the work.
Date: 02/11/2007 Event: The concrete walkway is being removed from the bridge, however it was not know to the construction team that there were gas and electricity pipelines running along the bridge so there was a long delay in the removal of this bridge.
Date: 02/11/2007 Event: It looked like it was all on target for the December opening target - but as we now know it took until February!
Date: 01/12/2007 Event: The new junction has by this time been completed and is ready to open - it did open in February 2008.
Date: 02/12/2007 Event: The new bridge, made by GOS engineering was finally lifted into place in the evening by this 500tonne Baldwins crane.
Date:03/02/2008 Event: This was the first railway update of 2008, the old bridge finally being removed. I also heard the whisper on this day that the line would be opening on the 6th of Feb - turned out to be right - thankfully!
Date: 03/02/2008 Event: This is the new bridge pre-surfacing, I was also lucky enough to be allowed to be the first member of the public to cross the bridge. It has not yet opened for public use.
Date: 04/02/2008 Event: The car park opened two days before the first train left the station.	- Picture not avalible -
Date: 06/02/2008 Event: The first ever public train for 47 years on the Ebbw Valley line - this train left the station at 6:40am.
Date: 06/02/2008 Event: On the morning of the opening deputy first minister Ieaun Wyn Jones amongst other dignitaries were on board the first train.
