Ebbw Vale's refuse service is run by Blaenau Gwent County council, and the recycling service is run by Tidy Trev.  Blaenau Gwent's rubbish is all dumped at Silent Valley in Ebbw Vale.

Refuse Collection Information

  • Currently, all collections are carried out on a weekly basis;
  • Blaenau Gwent council give the following guidelines for refuse collection:

  • You must leave your bins and black bags for collection near your front gate, either in your front garden, on the drive or path, but not on the pavement or grass verge.
  • Put your rubbish bins and bags out for collection from 7.30 am on the day of collection.

  • If your collection is via a rear service road, you continue to leave it in the usual place.
  • Only where your front door opens directly onto the pavement and there is no rear access would you leave your bins or black bags on the pavement next to your door - be careful not to obstruct the pavement for pedestrians.

  • Between collections you do not store bins or bags anywhere other than on the property where you live.
  • Occasionally our collection lorry cannot gain access to certain areas because of parked cars.  This can result in refuse being left until such time that we have a smaller or spare vehicle available.  If you have a car can you please make sure that it does not cause an obstruction.

  • Refuse is collected on a weekly basis except in the cases of public holidays, in which announcements will be made as to changes.
